Tarot cards: she uses tarot cards as a way to read her opponent. Their weaknesses, their strengths, their motives, their fears, it's all in the cards. Though she can't get too much information since the cards are to be interpreted but she can get a basic grasp of it. The cards themselves are two inches thick and made of steel with the tips being sharp. They can be thrown like daggers when needed. Otherwise their only use would be getting a reading of their opponent. In order to preform the reading, she does need someone to protect her as she shuffles the cards and focuses on getting an accurate reading.

PERSONALITY

Umiko is a calm, well behaved person. She does her homework on time, she listens to her parents for the most part and she makes sure she never loses her temper. She is pretty brave; she isn't afraid to stand up for what she believes in. Even if that could get her into a fight, she'll stand up for it. She won't act afraid of anybody or anything. Her interactions with the darker side of the paranormal taught her to never show fear. She is fully capable of adapting to any sudden changes and she handles change well. She is careful about her words and her actions since she never wants to hurt anybody. She is a pacifist at heart but she still stand up to defend herself if she needs to. She is smart and quick to learn, she can pick things up at the drop of a hat. It helps that she's determined as well. Once she sets her mind on doing something, she will make sure she goes through with it. This also makes her decisive. She has a childlike aura about her since she is inherently wholesome and wouldn't wish harm upon her worst enemies and her curiosity and acceptance of the unexplainable is also very childlike in nature. This doesn't mean she's an open book though. She has plenty of secrets that she'll only share with her closest friends. She can be superstitious about many things. She does believe strongly in the paranormal and with how childlike she can be, it's no surprise to many. Her childlike naivety also leads her to be gullible. You can tell her anything and she'll believe you. She is aloof and rarely ever shows emotion. That isn't because she wants to, it's because she has a hard time showing emotions. Her face and voice remain flat no matter what.

BIOGRAPHY

Umiko grew up in a nice sedated environment. She spent a lot of time in meditation since her parents were very spiritual and that relayed back to her. With how spiritual her parents were, she believed strongly in the power of the paranormal and has been deeply fascinated by it since a young age. At some point she started dabbling in magick believing it to work just like magic. She did find out the hard way that magick wasn't magic. Rarely any of her casted spells ever became reality. Frustrated, she gave up on it for half a year until she suddenly became interested in it again. This time, she did better research on it. In order for any magick to work, you do have to work for it. As you work for it, the spells will help you achieve it. She mostly focuses on white magick and reiki magick and she focuses on divination, mainly cartomancy, astrology and dririmancy, on the side. She doesn't work with black magick and will only occasionally deal with dark or grey magick. After a few years of working with magick, she started to call herself a witch. Only a simple witch. She didn't identify with any religion. She did grow up in a family of Buddhists so Buddhism had some influence on her and still does.

She also came around to figuring out she was nonbinary around the time she started dabbling in magick. It wasn't a big discovery for her since she never particularly felt like a girl, but instead felt she was genderless. She accepts any pronouns whether that be it, she, he, they, whatever. She personally uses she since that's what she's used to. She dresses in a feminine or androgynous way as that's what she's most comfortable with.

One day she took in a raven that had taken a liking to her. It wouldn't fly away when she came near it and eventually it'd hang around on her shoulder. She decided to make it her familiar and gave it the name Alloces, after her favorite demon in the Ars Goetia. Little to her knowledge, the bird she took home was a servamp in its animal form. As soon as he turned back into his human form she threatened to curse him even if she never worked with curses or black magick. She never will. If a curse comes back to you, it'll bite you even harder than it bit the one you sent it after. So yes, she was lying about cursing him but it might be enough to scare him away. He explained everything to her. He was also looking for an eve so he explained that to her as well. He said he'd be her familiar too if only to make the deal even more tempting to her. She agreed out of curiosity. So the next day she went out to an antique store and got him a sterling ring that was designed to look like a curled up feather. She thought it was perfect for him. She brought it to him, said the name she gave him while he was in his human form and the pact was made. He went on to seal the deal.

Once that was over with, she convinced her parents to let her keep him. They thought he was just a normal raven so it worked. Like any intelligent person, they'd never let some strange guy they barely knew move in with them. He got a very large cage, bird dishes, appropriate food, toys and all that jazz. He didn't like the idea of having to eat what normal ravens ate for the next few years of his life but they had to convince her parents that he was a normal bird. It worked. She's since taught him how to work with magick and let's him help her build her grimoire as well as cast spells. That's been her life ever since.
