Alistair was out on a walk with his adorable little Minerva. She always enjoyed them, so of course he'd take her out on them per request. If she was happy, he was happy, plain and simple. Minerva was a lot like his daughter, if he had to be frank. The way he took care of her, the way he loved her and the way he treated her were all akin to the way a father would. And not just any father, a good father. Alistair has always been confident in his parenting abilities, even if he's never had any kids himself. With his living situation, he simply couldn't afford to have any kids around. How would he hide them from Umiko's parents? How would he explain that to Umiko? Besides, it's not like there'd be a guarantee that the kid would be a servamp as well. If they could transform into something like a domesticated dog or cat, they could probably get by, but anything else? Having a raven in the house was a push. He's always considered opening an orphanage—he always hated seeing kids out on the streets just trying to get by. But he didn't have the money to open one—he's never worked a day in his life. He always just stole everything. Maybe he could steal a piece of property one day. That'd be great! But it had to be big enough to host children in it.[break][break]
After being lost in thought about this whole children ordeal, he came back into the here and now. And in the here and now, he was in front of a chibi shop. Wonderful! Minerva could meet some friends! This had to be a fateful encounter of some sort. Humming happily, he opened the door and went on inside. No one was at the counter as far as he could see—perhaps they were in the back? Either way, he turned to look cheerfully at the little blue doll on his shoulder.[break]
"Look, Minnie! A buncha little friends for you! C'mon on now, don't be shy!" He exclaimed. He made sure he was using a soft voice so he wouldn't startle Minerva. She didn't like it when he was too loud. It always startled her. But he was loud enough he was sure anyone else in the store could hear him. Drat. He was hoping he could snag one without anyone noticing, but with him being the only one here chances of that are slim. Someone had to be coming out to watch him soon. He sighed. Nothing he could do about it now. He turned to look back at Minerva, and took her off his shoulders, holding her in his hands. He let her get a closer look at the dolls throughout the store. He hummed as he did so—it was a happy, upbeat toon. He cautiously turned his head to look over his shoulders, still humming. He had to get a good look at the rest of the store. Before he knew it, his eyes had landed on accessories.[break][break]
Grinning, he hugged Minerva close to him and headed over to the accessories. Hopefully there'd be some that fit her! He wondered if they had any dressing rooms. It was not proper for a lady like her to take off her clothing out in the open. Minerva was no animal.[break]
"Minnie, see anything you like?" He smiled at her, his voice as gentle as it could be. His eyes landed on a pastel yellow dress. It looked big enough to fit her.[break]
"Ooh, that one? You'll look so pretty in it!" And he wasn't just saying that, Minerva would look pretty in just about anything. Her white gown was getting a little old—how long has she had that anyways? It was time she got some new clothes.
But he didn't have any money, so his only option would be to steal it. Hopefully he could snag it without anyone looking. But if someone did, maybe they'd put it on hold for him. That'd give him enough time to run outside and drop kick the nearest person to steal their money or card from their wallet. It was a bulletproof plan, if you had to ask him. The next thing that came into his sight was a beautiful deep red bow that was made out of silk. It didn't go with the dress, but it'd look pretty on Minerva. Besides, there were plenty of dresses! He could find something that matched. Getting Minerva a whole outfit sounded like a great idea to him. He looked around the store again, unsure if he'd see anyone.
