Spring break has finally kicked off! All the students are now enjoying their two weeks of freedom without any classes. With the seniors graduating this year the school has decided to host their annual Masquerade ball for everyone in town. Yes, even people from the neighboring town are invited to the ball. With the student council and the staff working overtime the ball is finally ready! Yet something is different about this year's event. It may be because the senior members of student council decided to go out with a bang,

[attr="class","jonlytimeleft"]Jasper Mikkelsen had a record. At sixteen he'd spent more days in detention or suspended than any of his peers. All added up, it was months of instruction time spent isolated with textbooks, his "punishment". When one school got sick of him, he'd be shipped off to another- a revolving door of faces and places.
What was perhaps uncharacteristic was that it wasn't generally violence that got Jasper kicked out. No- disobedience, insubordination, disrupting class, talking during class- but rarely did the Scottish boy get cited for putting his hands on anyone else. Truthfully, in the scattered incidents, he had only once been the initial aggressor of the violent behavior. The fact was, Jasper was smart and unafraid of consequences. They kicked him out for the good of the rest of the students, because ultimately, wasn't schooling a place to teach the children how to be proper citizens? Jasper Mikkelsen was definitely not an upstanding citizen. He was the voice of dissonance, asking the questions that shattered the illusion of their "flawless" education.
So, here he was, in Japan to learn some manners.
'Second hour's Japanese- don't you want to communicate with us?' His grandparents had guilt-tripped him. Not like Jasper had any choice. There it was in black and white, Japanese in the morning.
As if he didn't get asked enough, "Where are you from?" in Scotland. Wasn't it enough to look Japanese without having to pretend he was? First hour passed quickly, with him getting a "free pass" on the material since it was his first day. In essence he got to be an observer. Arms folded, leaning back in his chair, he spent the period just observing the unfamiliar faces.
Second hour wasn't as merciful. Being a new transfer so late in the year, there was very little English spoken in the classroom. Jasper had kept his head down, pen in constant motion to make it seem like he was taking notes. Maybe he'd overdone it- his teacher had asked him a question. Or, well, it sounded question-esque. He'd looked up, a blank expression, earning scattered giggles.
Didn't the Japanese-looking boy know the answer to the simple question?
Apparently not. Jasper looked down at his notebook, letting the awkward silence of the unanswered question hang in the air. Seconds ticked by, punctuated by the classroom phone ringing.
'Yes? He is. Yes.' Apparently the teacher did speak English. She set down the phone.
'Jasper, Mr. Ornsparre, our school counselor, would like you to go to his office. Go now.' Well, that, too, was in English. Shoving his notebook in his backpack, Jasper left the classroom. He knew where the counselor's office was, he had a printed map in his backpack, and he'd passed it earlier in the morning. Instead of walking there, he beelined for the cafeteria, buying a raspberry Ramune and some warm noodles from a vending machine. A perfect breakfast, right? Now he was ready to see what this counselor had in store for him.
Jasper strode with confidence through the halls, arriving at Damar's door. He knocked, waiting patiently with wrapped wooden chopsticks and a bowl of cheap noodles in one hand, and his soda in the other.

It was a bit unusual for damar to receive a file from the principal so early in the morning. Such a thick folder to! Was this kid really just sixteen? Looking at how big of a record it was he was about to ask if this was a mistake. If he had mixed up others papers with this new students but when the man told him no. That he would see Jasper more then e seen his own children damar came a hair of laughing but he bit it back and nodded his head. He doubt this kid was as bad as his own children! There was no way in hell Riiku was such a troublesome child and there was no way this boy could be even half of what his son was when he was going to school. after all he was pretty sure there might be a bounty on his boys head by now.
Shuddering at the thought he asked the ladies at the front desk to not bother him till he had some time to look over this boys files. So of course they done as he was asked. so instead of seeing Damar they was sent straight of the principals office to talk to him instead for the first hour. After going through everything twice, just to make sure he hadn’t missed nothing damar found himself humming to himself as he sat his black tea down on his cup holder. Closing the files Damar leaned back in his chair to think a moment. Jasper had only minor things. He wasn’t a violent child. He didn’t start nothing. His offenses seemed more like a troubled and lonely soul then anything. Thinking about it a moment he opened the files once more.
Jasper Mikkelsen. Male. Sixteen. Born in Paisley, Scotland. So he wasn’t Japanese and probably would take a bit of time to adjust here huh? Closing the file once more damar placed the boys record into his top drawer before locking it. Grabbing his laptop out of his bottom drawer he went to lock it next. Placing the laptop in his seat he walked over to the door. Popping his head out he called out to the ladies at the front desk. "If you don’t mind, please have Jasper Mikkelsen come to my office.” Smiling softly at them he closed the door behind him as he waited for the boy to come down here. While he waited thought.. walking back over to his seat he picked his laptop up.
Placing it on his lap he typed in his password to log in. Why? Because he didn’t like taking notes on paper. He preferred doing them on his laptop so no one could access them without his constant. When he finally heard a knock on the door Damar smiled happily. “Ah, please come in.” He spoke in english, almost happily when he finally heard the boy. Sure he shouldn’t be happy to have to deal with such a troubled child right? well from his record he wasn’t a bad kid if anything he was misunderstood and maybe had slight ADHD problems. Nothing he couldn’t help with! Well okay he couldn’t make him behave in class but he would make sure he wasn’t sent off for something as simple as causing problems in the classroom. That could easily be fixed!
After al some teens learnt better, or done better should he say, with a one on one lesson so they wouldn’t have an audience. Yet Damar was quite sure this boy wasn’t that bad of a case. waiting for Jasper to walk into the office. wait why English? Damar knew five languages from traveling, maybe even more but he only put five down on his record when he was asked. Oh wait, why? Because this boy was from Scotland right? If he didn’t fully known Japan just yet no need to make him angry from the get go, start on a mutual playing field! waiting for the other to come in damar held out the candy bowl to the boy who seemed to have his own food in his hand. "Candy?" He offered jasper with a playful smile. sure it was cream savors because they was damar's favorite but hey! Treats always made others start on a food foot!

[attr="class","jonlytime"]
[attr="class","jonlytimeleft"]English. Well, at least he would understand the well-meaning drivel from the man, right? Jasper slipped his unopened bottle of soda under his arm, freeing his hand to open the door. As if he already knew Damar would ask, he pushed the door closed with his foot. These "administrative" types always wanted privacy, didn't they? That was fine by him. Without waiting for an invitation, he moved to the chair across from the desk- what he would deem the "student" chair. Instead of sitting normally, he laid in the chair, his legs hanging over the side, his back propped against the arm rest.
Wait, the guy was already asking him a question. Jasper glanced in his direction, realizing he'd completely ignored the candy. At the moment he didn't need it with the soup resting on his chest. He had yet to unwrap the chopsticks. Honestly? It was a cheap prop to see if he could push Damar's buttons, but he didn't - yet - want to eat in front of Damar. After all, that was rude. So was bringing the food into his office, but hey, Jasper wasn't a monster was he? He'd begin eating when Damar got annoying.
"No. Strangers. Candy. You understand." The Scottish boy replied, before turning his gaze to the ceiling. There was no chance of Damar starting out on the right foot. This meeting felt like a premeditated ambush to him- the problem child comes to school, why not make him someone else's problem? Those higher ups had probably had his file for days. Electronic communication. PDFs. Idly, he wondered if there was a strategy in place. In his previous schools there had been "behavior contracts" he'd been compelled to sign. Was this what that meeting was about? Paperwork meant to compel him to start on the right foot?
It was always the same core behaviors: don't leave the classroom without permission, don't enter any administrator's office without permission, respect your teachers and classmates, and respect the structure.
As it turned out, the false construct of authority was pivotal to a productive learning environment. Who would have thought? That, and acting like all high school teachers knew more about the topics they taught than the curriculum or lesson plan retaught them, was important too in a classroom of twenty-plus pupils. As if every English teacher would be an expert in poetry, prose, literature, and rhetoric, and every science teacher a whiz at botany, zoology, chemistry, and physics. How was he expected to know how fragile the charade was?
Except, of course, Jasper did know.
All the same, it was very possible Jasper was too suspicious for his own good. He typically did have a narrative for events, rarely based on more than past experience and his own initial thoughts. Now was no exception.
Jasper opened his soda, tipping the drink to sip while laying. The marble shifted against the glass, visibly startling him with the glass-on-glass sound. Intrigued, he began examining the bottle.
"There's a marble in here." As if that's what Damar wanted to spend his time talking about. Jasper tilted the bottle back and forth, watching the marble slide around in the narrow space.
"You should add that to the notes- 'likes marbles'. Maybe they'll buy me some for detention- you know, keep my rage at bay." Except, he didn't go into rages, and he had little-to-no interest in marbles, aside from this one here which he, quite honestly, wanted to free from its glass prison. What did he care if the record was accurate?
"Doesn't it get too sticky and gross?" It was more an observation than a question, if he was being honest, but Damar was in the room. Why not include him?

Laughing a bit at Jasper, Damar couldn’t help but to be amused by his statement. ”That is a really good thing to go by.” Damar smiled at the scottish boy, rolling his eyes a bit when he watched him flop. Yes, he noticed him kick the door shut! Yes he realized there was a smug from the males foot to the door but he forced himself to look at his screen and not at the door. Knowing if he got up just to clean the door then it might come off as rude since Jasper didn’t know he had issues with these things. So forcing himself to focus on other things for now he looked at Jasper. Seeing him laying like that in the chair he gave a soft hum. That couldn’t be good on the boys back to lounge so cramped up.
Actually there was something he wanted to check on while this boy was getting all comfortable. Minimizing out of his note pad he opened the school record for this kid since he was part of the staff team here so he had all rights to them. Letting Jasper play with his bottle damar just scrolling through the boys past records and memorized each grade the boy got since he was in in school. impressive. So this boy was actually- Likes marbles. Damar actually did add that to his notes. Only to go back to what he was looking at once he made sure it was actually noted like the boy had said. Finally getting up to this years records Damar closed his laptop for a moment to finally notice what the other was doing.
”Well naturally it would get sticky im sure, if you want me to get it out later i can. I’ll clean it to so it won’t be sticky.” Okay so that last part was more for him then it was Jasper. OCD after all so the smallest things bothered him.. speaking of small things. Getting up a moment Damar placed his laptop in his seat once more. Walking over to his desk he grabbed a second Coaster from his drawer for Jaspers bottle. Yet they wasn’t the normal circular ones that most used. No Damar loved the snowflake ones the best. They not only looked pretty but they was perfect for different sized cups, glasses and bottles in Jaspers case. Placing it on the table next to Jasper Damar gave him a small, sweet smile.
Then he noticed it. Looking at Jasper Damar felt his eyes widening a bit. What was that? Was Jaspers hair really styled like cat ears? Fuck wasn’t that adorable. Now he wanted to pet him and.. no! Bad Damar, do not touch the pretty cat boys ears’ that was just to weird. Feeling his hands twitching a bit from the need to pet the ‘kitty ears’ he forced himself to sit back down in his chair, after grabbing and opening his laptop once more. Clearing his throat damar went back to working. ”If your hungry, please do eat, i don’t mind you eating in here. Just if you make a mess please make sure to change after you leave my room. No need to have you walking around all sticky.” That was it Damar! Change the subject from them cute little cat ears the boy had, or was sporting.
Oh wait! Focus don’t get off topic here Damar! Looking over at the cat boy Damar found himself humming a bit. ”You know, from your records you are not a bad student. you seem like you have higher marks here then most of our own student council members.” Sucking up? Well no, it may seem like it but he was simply bragging on the other. ”I don’t understand why your record is so big though. sent off, dentition and scolded for misbehaving. you do not get into fights.. your not a rowdy child pre se. I think your last schools was just lazy if they troubled you so bad.” He had a point and he was getting to it! But basics first. This was not a ‘I'm telling you now we wont get along’ speech like the boy probably thought he was going to get but a mere ‘i don’t understand why you have a record.’
Reaching over to grab his black tea he took a drink from it, only to place it back on his coaster. ”In fact, from your records and school grades. i can easily clean your records and make sure you don’t have it by time you go to college. If, you come back to my office a few days a week. I’ll say at least twice. No i won’t make you sign contract.. which from reading over it earlier.. it was broken. Not by you really. Just the opposite.” Clicking, his fingers was moving on his keyboard showing he was either making notes or accessing things of his own. Erasing because the constants click of one key. Oh wait back to Jasper!
”Oh right, i could even speak to your teachers. It seems like you don’t really have to be in classes. Although this is school so you do have to be. So if your interested i could probably get you into some advance classes that seem like they could be challenging or at least more on your speed. In fact science is the class your misbehaving in. according to your old school. How about that class period you come to my office and ill have your assignments on the table waiting on you. I’m offering you a chance at being excluded from the class and lounging in here so long as the work is done. It won’t be permeant just till summer break to see how you do with this.”
Yes he had the right and authority to do this.He worked out an arrangement before ever coming here that if students needed a whole period to work with he would be allowed because in his clinic he had to do this on many occasions. So why not help the students like he did his patients? Look at his grand son he was doing great now because his one on one time. Looking over at Jasper again he found himself looking them ears again. Damn it, no! Focus on the topic here. What was it? Oh right skipping class.
”Actually i would like to see you in a few advance classes just to see how you like the challenge, or the students rather. Maybe you can get along with them a little better then the rest of the students. Just be warned some of our students can be very proud and think they are the smartest. Maybe a tricky kitten can teach them a few things.” He laughed a bit at the thought of seeing the others annoyed at him. Why? Because as much as he loved this school, some of the people, teachers included needed to realize there was others that knew more then them. Damar? He was just a helper, he wasn’t here to show off how smart he was or was not. His job was to help others and work with them. Not teach them subjects.
I guess it all depends in the end.♥
Jasper Mikkelsen #shit his muse is finally waking up. be warned about long replies!

[attr="class","jonlytime"]
[attr="class","jonlytimeleft"]"Get it out?" Jasper would have broken the bottle, because the blue lid was definitely not unscrewing. Now the question was, why later? Was this some sort of bizarre rewards system, or was Damar simply meaning once he finished his soda? Speaking of soda. Jasper watched the coaster as if it were dangerous or bizarre. Why would you want a coaster that looked like it had holes in it? Didn't that defeat the purpose? His gaze was fixed on the coasters, his expression one of contemplation as he tried to think of a logical explanation.
Damar's throat clearing got his attention. He was well-trained to recognize that meant 'look here, I'm talking'.
"I can get you some." Jasper offered calmly. And, very likely, not come back for a while. Damar was right, the way he was sitting was starting to feel really uncomfortable. Damar should have told him to move by now. "Wait... Change? No one's going to see I'm sticky. That's the most useless-" Wait. He was supposed to be on his best behavior. Stopping himself, Jasper paused, thinking. How was he supposed to salvage this? Useless was pretty definitive. He could really say, "I have nothing to change into" because, well, odds were that the school would have a uniform available.
"I'm not going to make a mess." There. The huffy answer, as if he were just indignant that Damar would accuse him of something he hadn't done yet. That would get him off the hook, wouldn't it? Setting his noodles and soda on the table- using the coaster for the soda, even- Jasper rolled off the chair. It wasn't a far drop, but he caught himself, landing on his knees with his hands out to brace himself. Once safely on the ground, he lowered himself to his stomach before sliding the chair away from himself with his foot. Next he grabbed the noodles and soda, leaving the coaster on the table as he set them both in front of him.
This guy talked a lot, didn't he? Jasper unwrapped his chopsticks while Damar was talking, fiddling with them as he tried to hold them comfortably. Once he was satisfied he trapped noodles, only to twirl the sticks to wrap the noodles around until, finally, he took his first bite. And, let's face it, the last one. Making a face at the bowl, Jasper slid it quietly away from him before folding his arms and resting his chin.
Yada yada... What? Clear his record?
"Don't make promises you can't keep." Jasper scolded, his expression darkening. Twice a week? No contract? Jasper reached up for the coaster, though, slipping it under his drink on the floor. If Damar could really pull it off, Jasper would definitely respect him ... No. Wait. What was he doing?
"What is this? Good cop, bad cop? What makes you think I want to be in here?" It was too good to be true. That's what was happening right now- he couldn't trust promises. He couldn't bear disappointment.
"Wait, wait." Jasper sat up quickly, folding his arms across his chest, his legs crossed beneath him. "Let me get this straight. You want me to skip the one class I continuously get kicked out of? How will I ever graduate with no scientific general education?" Except, he hadn't failed the classes. His test scores were high, it was his "citizenship" or "participation" that reflected poorly on him. No- Jasper actually wanted to learn more about the world around him. More than that, he liked his science class. At least, he liked picking on the other kids and introducing new ideas. Why would Damar want to take that joy from him?
Wait. Did he just call him kitten? Jasper's expression shifted again to confusion before, blushing, he tried to smooth out his hair. The last thing he needed was Damar teasing him about how he looked! Weren't there rules about that? He managed to flatten his hair slightly, but not much. He needed water to wash out the product he'd put in.
"I'm going to get you lunch." Jasper announced, getting to his feet before turning to walk to the door. It was morning, so really it'd be more of a breakfast, but he was accurate in indicating that he was planning to bring back lunch food. The real objective? Fix his hair. But he'd grab Damar something from the vending machine, just to give himself a little time to walk and let his hair dry.

"Yeah, Yuuma used to love them things. I can get them out." He replied back to Jasper, even if he wasn't directly talking to him. Why later? Because he would have to jerk the glue off the glass and sometimes it broke because hoe tight you'd have to grip the glass itself. But wait there was more pressing thing's to be dealt with then the marble that he could get out later for him. Like for one, this record that he could easily see was un fair and not deserved in the least. Now his oldest son, yeah he deserved the record he got. When Damar mention the food he couldn't help but to chuckle softly, shaking his head at Jasper. "No need really." he knew Jasper was just trying to find a reason to leave so he knew he had to step it up a bit and try to catch his attention.
For as much as he wanted to correct him by saying he never said no one would see he's sticky. That wasn't the point here. Damar just didn't want the boy to be uncomfortable or walking around smelling like, well his food. So instead of making a comment he just let it slid like Jasper did, instead. "Thank you." He replied almost instantly when Jasper said he wouldn't make a mess. With Jasper sliding from the chair to the floor damar was about to ask him if he needed a pillow to get more comfortable but it seemed like Jasper was more interested in what he said. So of course he was going to smile and nod his head at him. "Yeah i mean, the only thing on your records was disturbing the class really. Unlike allot of students i had in here before you that should just be dentition at best not cause for being expelled and go on file. It wouldn't be hard at all to clear it."
To be frank, Damar was not comfortable allowing that to stay on the boys record anyways. He could see it if he deserved it but these small little things? He would easily wipe them clean before the summer ever came around. After all he was the counselor here and it was part o his job description after all. Good cop, bad cop? Looking a bit confused damar stopped his typing for a moment to look down at Jasper. "I don't play that game. Although since you asked." There he was closing, or almost closing his laptop so he could look down at the cat boy. "To be frank that seems to be the class your personality gets you into trouble. So i figured if you done your lessons in here by yourself you could be as creative as you want. the only time you'd have to actually go to the classroom itself is on days they mixing chemicals or cutting things. I can't handle a messy office im sorry."
Trust started with honesty right? well that and if he was going to let Jasper skip a whole class he was going to make sure he didn't snap and tell him to stop making a mess because lets be honest he had real bad ocd. Like that footprint on the door, the chair moved and that bowl that Jasper wasn't going to eat. It was killing him but he was going to focus on other things right now and not three things that was only slightly bothering him right now. Like an easy distraction right now. Jasper's blush. If he was honest, he hasn't seen that blush, from being called a kitten, in many many years. so yeah he found himself laughing a bit just because he thought it was strangely cute hat he seemed embarrassed by the fact damar called him a kitten.
Wasn't that what he was going for, by styling his hair like that? Either way Damar decided he might as well keep talking since he seemed to be getting somewhere at least. "Get me lunch? Well thats kind of you.. if you really want to..:" Yeah maybe he was falling for Jaspers trap. If you wanted to call it that. He knew what the boy was up to he wasn't dumb. Sitting his laptop down in his chair once more he reached in his jacket to grab his wallet out. "Here is 2,000 yen. that should easily get a nice lunch." two thousand seemed like to much right? well in american money he'd be giving Jasper twenty dollars so it wasn't like he was showing off.
No if anything he was helping him out in case he didn't have the correct money for down here. After all he was pretty sure a meal for two wouldn't even be twenty dollars but it did give Jasper time to 'get the correct change' so he could take a little longer with his hair if he wanted. Yeah Damar knew what he was doing by just watching him mess with his hair. "I like the fried rice they make here. be sure to get something you will eat." He said with a little laugh waiting on Jasper to accept his money. After all he did say he was getting him lunch so it was only common that Damar's food. Damar would pay, right? "Oh and.. on your way back. could you please not kick the door shut. No need for others to think you are being troublesome. Thank you."
Damar knew he might be soft, no he knew he was soft on students but he couldn't help it. He believed that even the most troublesome and out of control child could be helped if you worked with them. you just had to find something they liked or was interested in. waiting to see if Jasper was going to actually leave or not damar stood there with his hands behind his back. No he hadn't put his wallet back up, not yet but he'd get to that in a moment. "Oh, cats are my favorite. So cat eared students are just the best. cat's are simply just misunderstood for their creativity and originality." He closed his eyes, giving a soft laugh after saying that. Why? Just so Jasper could react without having to worry that damar seen his expression.

[attr="class","jonlytime"]
[attr="class","jonlytimeleft"]Yuuma? Was that supposed to mean something to him? It at least sounded Japanese, but Jasper wasn't quite ready to ask Damar "personal" questions, so he let the mystery hang in the air. The more important takeaway was that Damar could get it off for him, which was enough for him.
"Oppositional Defiance Disorder." Jasper parroted a "diagnosis" that had been tossed around to explain why no one would settle the rebellious kid. "I could be a menace to society. That record could totally be what they point to when I become a serial killer. Or a businessman that swindles people out of millions with my smooth talking. Or, when I start a cult and we live on some remote compound with a thousand guns." There was only one aspect of this that was true- he did want to be famous. But not for murder, corruption, or fanaticism- no. He wanted to be famous as an independent celebrity.
So... This mess thing really did bother him, didn't it? Jasper, momentarily, reconsidered his plot to bring food into the room and lounge about. It wasn't that he didn't want to annoy Damar- he did! But he didn't want to drive the poor guy crazy. No, he wanted to find the boundaries, and he wanted to see how far he could push it before Damar gave up, not to begin a war or start personal attacks on Damar.
"Two thousand?" Yep. He hadn't figured out the conversion quite yet. He knew what coins went in the machine, but two thousand in paper money? What was this guy's deal? Who gave a complete stranger two thousand yen? Jasper closed the distance, taking the money reluctantly, examining the unfamiliar bills he was now holding. Next, could he not kick the door? Glancing back at it, as if remembering there was a door, Jasper seemed to consider this request seriously before looking back at Damar, still without a word spoken. After a few moments, he retreated to the door as if ready to leave. Honest- that was the plan. To leave with the money and... he didn't know what then.
Cats were his favorite? Clutching the money as if Damar might take it back, Jasper leaned against the door, crossing his arms. It was a defensive stance whether he meant for it to be or not. Surely Damar knew he couldn't have real cat ears, right? There was no point in stating the obvious, so Jasper went a different route.
"War of the Worlds came out when I was four. On Halloween, just before I turned five, my parents bought the movie. I was obsessed. Terrified, too. My parents put the movie on, but didn't pay too much attention, almost like they knew what was coming. But me? I watched it then, and over and over after that. While other kids knew every word to Lion King, I was asking my primary teacher if aliens were going to attack, and what we were doing about it. She thought I was silly. Overactive imagination. Aliens weren't real. But that's not true. An alien doesn't have to come to Earth to be real. She was telling us what she believed not what was scientifically proven. It's not just aliens. We don't know what's in the ocean, or what else space is comprised of. We have theories." There was no doubt he didn't like the idea, or the word, theories. At least not the "theories" spouted as truth to children in education.
"While I'm planning how to stop alien spaceships from incinerating humans- which, by the way, I still don't know how to do without some exoskeleton impermeable material, or something, because who even knows what material aliens weaponry can't penetrate- while I care about that we're using science hour to draw bugs and plants. To learn the scientific method. We're using science class as an extra recess period We're going to look at trees in the neighborhood and local park. Nature walks. Or we're pretending to be bears and salmon, because everyone should know how the rivers work. It's bloody fucking absurd!" Here it was, the reason he couldn't stand his science class. But he wasn't done yet. With his rant well underway, Jasper finally moved from the door, pushing the chair from where he'd pushed earlier to closer to Damar's desk than before he'd moved it. When he sat in the chair, he sat properly, facing the counselor, his expression as adamant as his words. He cared, and truthfully suffered more from general anxiety as a young child than anything else.
"But when you talk to the kids about genetic modification, about 'designer babies'- about babies who can be tailor-made to parents, exasperating the socioeconomic disparity-" Wait, 'designer babies', paying for the perfect child, wasn't the real issue here. He couldn't get lost in a tangent.
"Kids, they get it and they want to help. But it's some kind of secret. Why? Global warming, the super volcanos, massive earthquakes, tsunamis, hurricanes, tornados- they happen but why are we conquered by them? Who's going to be the engineer, the scientist, the human, to conquer Mother Nature? Not kids that don't know the problems! And then they promote STEM like it's some long forgotten, but valuable subject. Ha! It's not forgotten by the students, it's butchered by a weak curriculum. Everyone acts like they're experts on everything we get taught, not just science, but we're never taught anything new- no, who wants to do yearly research after college? Not Scottish teachers. I don't want to skip science, Mr. Ornsparre. Choose any other class, I'll be here every time."
Okay. The passionate tirade was finished. ... mostly. Jasper leaned forward, his arms folded against the very edge of Damar's desk, his chin resting on his arms, Damar's yen still in his hand as he tried to look casual. Honestly? His eyes were alert, taking in Damar's reaction, waiting for how the counselor would take addressing the "real" problem behind his behavior. It may not actually be the real problem, but it was the problem Jasper was sharing. Granted, he might have been exaggerating his point- to say they learned nothing new was unfair. For plenty of students the material from the curriculum was new and more relevant than the more abstract fields and "problems" Jasper was concerned with. Schools taught the concrete, giving students the ability to research for themselves if nothing else, but Jasper didn't see it that way.

"Obsessive compulsive disorder." Damar responded with his own "diagnosis." Why? To let the other see he wasn't the only one with a 'personality' disorder. Damar had one too, he had his since he was a small child. Well okay, since he was raised as a human. Listening to Jasper he made sure not to miss a thing he said. giving a soft laugh Damar shook his head, looking over the shorter male. "Hey did you know, some scientist think people with OCD can be a harm to oneself or others around them. So i have as high of a chance of killing people and going on a rampage as you." no Damar was not making fun of him. Never, no he was just showing Jasper that people thought anyone with a disorder could kill people.
The most Damar would do is let himself into his grandson's house and clean it from top to bottom again and have his grandsons husband walk in and look at him like he was crazy for breaking into his home and cleaning Yet! Damar let that subject drop with that when he offered the boy some lunch money. He actually found it cute when Jasper was almost reliant to take the money. That, that was when Damar actually found his eyes widening a bit. Wait, wait! Let him open his laptop back! Quickly moving to sit down Damar quickly bypassed his lock screen to start typing again! He was typing everything Jasper had to say. Why? Because he wanted to kept record of this in case it came up earlier he could just back track on his notes and remember some important details about the boy.
For as much as he wanted to speak and say something here and there damar stopped himself. Instead he focused on every little detail that Jasper had said. Making sure to put things into different categories as the boy kept talking. This was all interesting to Damar. Not because he was trying to be nosey and know why Jasper was so weird. No. Because he liked to hear what had made the boy so different and unique He made sure to note that War of the Worlds seemed like a movie or series? That Jasper liked. So he was a sci-fi kitten huh? That was strangely charming. Man Jasper really did like the movie didn't he? Just listening to him Damar had actually! stopped typing for a moment to look at him. With the cat boy moving his chair closer to his own desk
Damar actually found himself closing his laptop once more, sliding it away from his this time. There was allot more he could get on this boy. Or rather note wise. Yet when Jasper gave him that look, sat in his seat almost proper like damar had to admit it would be rude to keep has nose glued into the screen. He'd just make mental notes for now. Pick a different class? damar didn't even know what classes Jasper had! He was just trying to be nice and help the boy because of his bad reports in science class. waiting for Jasper to finish with everything he had to say Damar just found himself smiling happily at the boy maybe he was enjoying this a bit to much. Never had he seen someone have such a passion for something like this before. Well not for nothing that didn't involve hurting others.
When he was sure Jasper was finish speaking damar let out a soft laugh, leaning back into his seat as he looked over the cat boy. Fascinating that was for sure. Maybe he also had a over active imagination as well. Man, this was going to be a fun next month and half wasn't it? Okay it was Damar's time to talk. Humming happily Damar laced his fingers together against his stomach, resting his elbows on the arm of his chair. "I'm going to start with, i love how that mind of yours work, it's very extraordinary to say the least." It was always best to start with something positive now wasn't it? Catch the boys attention to make sure he was paying attention to him. Closing his crimson eyes Damar played out the boys 'rant' in his head for a moment.
"I'm actually impressed, it seems like your passionate about things that can't be explain or shouldn't be able to.. genetic modification.. that's great I'm actually ecstatic to hear more about your thoughts on that, later." He wasn't lying, it wasn't often that you caught something so rare. Or in Damar's case was handed such a gifted and special child. "I'm not just saying that or making fun of you, so you know." He wanted to make that clear before he went on.. actually he could prove it. "Jasper, hold your arm out in front of you please. Don't worry I'm not going to do nothing to you.. think of this as a scientific observation." What? Jasper liked science right? Why not use some science terms for the Alien loving, cat boy?
Waiting for Jasper to hold his arm out, because lets be honest if he liked science as much as he let on to and was that curious. There was no way he could resist the offer to observe something. Especially when Damar had promised not to do nothing to him right? Waiting for the boy to accept his offer he took a soft breath. "What I'm going to do lets keep between us okay? No need to let others in on something that shouldn't be able to explain." he laughed playfully at the boy, only to shift his form. In the blink of the eye the six foot, six male had shrunk down to a mere six inch black bat. Flapping his wings a few times Damar had actually landed on the males arm. It was clear that it was still Damar because of the bat's pierced ear.
Showing Damar's pierced ears when he was in his human form. Now it was time for the icing on the cake. "Now, can you explain why i, a man can turn into a bat? Why i have both a human and an animal form? Or the bigger question. Why can you understand me when im clearly just a bat right now? You like weird, extraordinary things right? So tell me Jasper. Am i scary to you? Or does knowing I'm a strange species of human excite you? No, better question. If i tell you more things about me, my species. Will you focus in school and help me clear your record before hummer break? Because this.." Swinging from Jaspers wrist he made sure not to cut his wrist on his tendons scrap the skin. Stretching his wings out they extended a solid one foot in distance. Closing his wings once more Damar gave a soft little chuckle, looking back over at Jasper. "Do we have a deal?"

[attr="class","jonlytime"]
[attr="class","jonlytimeleft"] "Did you clear your record too? We can plan our spree together, but only if you're not going to lead them onto our trail." Jasper joked. Perhaps it was bad humor, but hey- things like this were why his teachers didn't like him. That, and well, he would go after them, getting more personal and insistent if they ignored him.
A compliment shouldn't have annoyed him. Damar was being nice. Jasper sat back in the chair, arms going over his chest, his expression calm as Damar closed his eyes. Nope. He was done. No more talking. He wasn't here to be patronized. So why was Damar still talking? He scoffed softly when Damar said he wanted to hear more about genetic modification, biting back the quick reply of, 'Do your own damn research'. Not that he didn't want to share what he knew, or discuss the moral implications- he did! And who better than a counselor? Perhaps it was fair to say that for a boy like Jasper, Damar's compliments were coming too soon. Not only did Jasper have money, he had kind words. What was this guy's game? No one was this nice.
Did saying he wasn't making fun of him make it true? Jasper didn't think so. Damar could still be making fun of him, so, he wasn't saying a word. When Damar finally told him to hold out his arm, Jasper sighed, shoving the money into his pocket before standing up- Damar hadn't told him to, he just wanted to be in a better position to react if Damar did try something he didn't approve of.
"They actually pay you for this shit?" Jasper began growling before holding out his arm straight in front of him. Had he really said "keep it between them"? As if this wasn't a bad enough situation as it was.
"If you don't-" get on with it. That's what was going to come next, then a threat to leave. But Damar's transformation silenced Jasper. His anger was replaced by surprise, his eyes widening. A liar or not, he could put up with mindless compliments if the payoff was seeing Damar as a bat.
"Of course! I'll behave, I swear." Jasper promised without hesitation. "In here two times a week you said?" Jasper lifted his free hand, drawing his fingers along the top of the bat's head. Two times a week to ask Damar questions and beg him to turn into a bat? There's no way he'd pass that up. With a little over a month that gave him less than twenty chances to figure this out, whether it was magic, or truly an unexplainable phenomenon. It was a rigged twenty questions in a way, wasn't it?
"You're not scary. It's the middle of the day so it's not lunar like werewolves. And you seem pretty large for a bat." Coming from a teen that, aside from cartoons, had only ever seen fruit bats in person. "Is this some trick? You don't have a trap door under your desk or anything do you?" Maybe he didn't see what he thought he saw- the instantaneous transformation of Damar into a bat. The human mind was complex and could be fooled, after all.
"It looks like you're really talking." Boldly, Jasper moved his hand from petting the bat, to gently poke at bat Damar's lips. "Open up, pleeaasse?" As if expecting Damar to listen, he began slowly moving his arm closer to himself so he could see the bat better.
"Can I come here at lunch? Please, Mr. Ornsparre- I'll buy you your fried rice and bring it to your office, and I swear, I won't make a mess." Jasper wasn't convinced Damar wanted to spend his lunch entertaining Jasper, but Jasper couldn't resist trying his luck. Who knew, maybe Damar would see him as enough of a problem that extra time would be permissible. Besides, who wanted to sit in a lunch room when you didn't know a single person? Not Jasper. Damar would be doing him a favor, bat or no bat.

Damar was actually laughing at the boys outrageous comment. It was to funny. The thought of them going on a spree together... "Are you kidding? With my tidiness i'd have it all cleaned up by the time there there. No one would know what to think of a crime scene all cleaned up and no fingerprints anywhere." That would make a fun news story wouldn't it? Grinning playfully Damar went on to explain or make the image more visual. "It would end like. Today on the five o'clock news, witness say there was two males that done it. yet the big shocker today in our story is one of the two men cleaned up the crime scene before they left. oh... i'm sorry i said that wrong! Cleaned the whole house before he left!'" Smiling happily damar found this to fun, he liked this kid already.
But with that behind him, he went on to talk to Jasper. He was trying to be nice here. He wanted to let Jasper know he was actually amazed by the boy's mind, his dedication to these things. he didn't know why but he had a strange image of Jasper in a underground den that was made to survive anything. zombies, aliens and predators. Oh there was one! He would have to remember to ask him later if he seen that one. it seemed like a good movie Jasper might like! Okay another mental note he'd have to remember! But for now. He wanted to break the ice with this boy already. Show him something he probably never seen before. Luckily for him Jasper actually did hold his arm out for him. Which was perfect. Damar was used to cursing with his oldest boy, oh was he ever. So it didn't even phase him that Jasper started to curse at him.
Although it seemed as if showing off this form had made Jasper happy. That, in return, had made Damar so happy. He loved seeing the boy's face light up like this. It was so much better then having him angry and on the fence about everything. Laughing a bit when he heard Jasper speaking Damar just flapped his wings playfully to show it really wasn't no illusion, or any trick that there was a live, roughly one and half pound bat dangling from his wrist. "Yes i’d prefer at least twice a week unless you really do wish to have a class in here with me instead. I don’t think no one will mind seeing how there isn’t many days left until break.” The bat would laugh playfully, he loved this. He never thought the boy would be this excited about seeing his form. Let alone this excited to actually listen to his suggestions. That made his day to say the least.
See the old schools had no idea what they was talking about. This boy was no menace to no one. He was just different. Figures people classify different as troublesome and out of control. ”The only downfall to me being a bat, during the day is i can’t that well. As a human i can see fine but like this? I have problems.” The bat smiled playfully at the thought. It was true, All bats done bad in the day, that's why you rarely seen them before sundown. Oh wait he said something about his size! ”Oh right, i'm a Spectacled flying foxes bat. Im generally a bit larger then most bats! That's actually probably while i'm so tall too.” He playfully joked with Jasper. He was a six foot, six man after all so of course it would make sense right?
When he asked if there was a trapped door Damar was about to shift back and show him for himself that he was actually the cute little bat. but feeling Jasper poking at his mouth Damar blinked a few times before opening his mouth. ”Watch out for my fangs.” He called out quickly, he didn’t want the poor boy to actually pierce his skin on his fangs. Not that Damar didn’t like blood. He did! He was just the nice vampire that would always ask before he fed off anyone. “Letting Jasper examine his mouth, or whatever he was going to do, Damar smiled and let out a playful little cry like a bat. ”Sure, i don’t mind. I’m usually alone on lunch breaks anyways. so it might be nice to have some company.” It was true, damar liked to be in the company of others. It was actually nice to have someone to talk to.
Hey Jasper, if you're interested in something that won’t be in books. Can tell you more about my species. But, i’ll only tell you a little each day you come in here. So twice a week for a month. that should give me plenty of time to tell you a little something each day. I’ll start with today. I’m not the only one that walks around you that can transform. ‘But i am the only one that is a bat. Some of your classmates? I know there are two large cats, a cheetah and a jaguar? There is also a wolf and a sparrow that i know of. But by looking at us, you’d never know we was anything but humans.” Maybe that would get the boys attention and make him actually like it here.
Smiling happily Damar flew down, resting on Jasper's lap as he gave a soft hum, only to shift back. Placing his head on Jasper's lap to show him that he was here and not in a trap door Damar gave one last soft laugh. ”But see, no smoke and mirrors, no trap doors. I'm just a guy that has two forms. and many degrees both from psychology, to medical and others. I'm not a counselor for the school as well as a rehab and counseling center. Meaning i treat both troublesome children to people with seriousness due to accidents, war, or sports. Sometimes even special cases, in my lifetime, i’ve done nothing but help others. So when i got your files. I realized a few things.” Damar spoke softly, pulling himself off the floor and ultimately Jasper's lap.
”Your not a troublemaker or a child that needs help. You just need something to challenge you and keep your interest. So for the remainder of this school year, come to my office, i’ll help you.” This time when Damar smiled at Jasper he let his fangs show, exposing that he had fangs in his human and his bat form. Okay, maybe Damar was enjoying himself too much. He knew by telling Jasper that he wasn't the only one in the school that was special might make him seem boring and less interesting, but knowing there was more like him might make Jasper happy. Why? because this boy liked weird things didn't he? So maybe he was selfishly feeding the boys interest while sadly making himself seem less interesting in doing so.

[attr="class","jonlytime"]
[attr="class","jonlytimeleft"]"That's exactly why I take you along- it'll be the perfect crime. They'll make documentaries of us! We can plan it out, taunt the police like the geniuses in the movies, with computer-generated algorithms, or old school with codes. Did you know, book cipher codes still baffle the average person. Do you have a favorite book? We'll use that. Doesn't matter how obscure." Maybe there was something wrong with him. Despite not exhibiting violent tendencies, the idea of a murder rampage was actually exciting him.
Or, well, to be fair, the idea of Damar going along with being his co-conspirator while they copied famous movies, that excited him. Fame, and proving he was smarter than the average person, that's what he craved. Crime itself wasn't a deterrent, but the fact that none of this was going to happen kept him from having to think too hard about whether or not he could actually move from 'fight back' to, 'murder someone'. Honestly? He didn't know of a single person he held that level of animosity towards and wanted dead.
"Would it help if I turned out the lights?" Jasper quizzed curiously. He wouldn't be able to see as well, but making Damar comfortable mattered more, especially if Damar would stay in bat form longer.
"Are you poisonous?" Jasper asked, his question direct, his voice curious but suddenly serious. This was science and he had to use his time wisely. Beyond that, if Damar wasn't poisonous, Jasper wasn't scared to prod the tip of Damar's fangs to test how sharp they were. They were tiny, it wouldn't hurt worst than a needle poke, right? He probably should have been more polite, less willing to look into bat Damar's mouth, much less stick his finger in it.
Speaking of wasting time, it wasn't lost on Jasper that Damar was quick to forgive him. Or at least give the impression of it. Despite him just swearing and being angry, Damar didn't act like he needed to be disciplined or scolded for his behavior. Maybe- just maybe- he liked this guy.
There were others?
"Who?" Jasper blurted out. But he was in a counselor's office. What were the odds of Damar actually being able to answer? "Introduce us- we can be friends. Isn't that one of the ways I prove I'm well-adjusted? I'll be the nicest friend any of them have ever had." That didn't mean he wasn't still interested in Damar. He thought he'd get a lot more information a lot faster from the counselor, and besides, he did say he was the only bat. So there was bound to be things only he knew, and things that he, as an adult, would be more able to share.
"You're really a bat." Jasper stated as Damar transformed into a human, before listening to his explanation. Multiple degrees? Jasper's surprised expression became a small smile as Jasper reached out his hand, rubbing Damar's hair like he'd done to the bat. It felt like real human hair. Pretending to get his hand "stuck" in the soft locks, he trapped a small piece of hair between his fingers, tugging at it when he "tried" to remove his hand.
"Sorry." Jasper offered automatically. Perhaps too quickly, in fact. It wasn't hard enough to pull hair from Damar's head, but it proved to him the counselor wasn't wearing a wig that was easy to remove. In other words, he seemed like a really normal human. With that realization, not even Damar talking about him could chase the smile away.
"In Scotland, you're only compelled to go to school until you're sixteen. I skipped a year when I was little, so I ... I sort of aged out of school before I could properly support myself. There are two more years you can go to, so I had started the first, but because of my behavior they didn't have to find me a new school anymore when I was kicked out. I had a job. Custodial at Abbey Lab." Jasper explained matter-of-factly. This time he did have a point: he wanted to be taken out of Japanese class. "The custodian always gets noticed and gets a job and becomes famous for solving problems that the other employees can't. You know, like Will in Good Will Hunting. My mom said no son of hers would be a janitor the rest of his life... so she sent me here to live with her parents. They speak English, but they want me to learn Japanese. So they put me into classes." Jasper pulled a folded up schedule from his pocket. First hour was Social Studies. Second hour, Japanese. Third, Judo. Then lunch, followed by Physics and Home Economics.
"I don't understand Japanese. Everyone in the class knows it so much better than I do- the teacher won't speak any English." Okay, he had about twenty minutes of experience with the class so saying 'ever' was a bit of a stretch. "But my grandparents want me to be able to talk to them. So... maybe if I have Japanese worksheets- I'm sure there are lots online! I'll buy a workbook, or that computer program that the military uses, and work on it every day. I'll turn it in like homework. Please?" Hands clasped, Jasper was expecting a no. Why? Because almost everything he wanted seemed to get a 'no' response, no matter how logically he laid it out for his listeners.

Okay so Damar knew he shouldn’t be enjoying this. He knew he shouldn’t like the thought of commenting a crime with someone, let alone a student! But there was something about all this that amused Damar to no end. He was enjoying how excited Jasper seemed talking about it. How he could have sworn the boys face light up when they was talking about it. Maybe it wouldn’t be so bad to humor him and actually go along with it. But his favorite book?
He didn’t really have a favorite that didn’t have to do with work. Maybe one he read to Riiku wen he was younger because he demanded that Damar read it to him. What was that one called that he read a million times? ”I have allot i like. Let me think about which is my favorite and we’ll come back to this. I’ll be the neat freak that cleans everything, you can be the one that throws them through loops with the codes. I don’t know much about codes sadly.” He laughed at the thought.
This kid was great. Damar was already taking a liking to him. He was so imaginative and even worked Damar’s ocd into the situation to make it seem... normal. He loved that, he loved being part of it as someone that helped and not got in the way and wasted time. Yet! He said he’d come back to it. So for now.. ”Yes, i see perfectly at night in this form, better than any cat or human. Although, don’t turn them off, i don’t want to seem weird. You’re already on defense enough about me.” Well maybe he wasn’t right now! But he had been earlier and he wouldn’t want Jasper to actually stop and realize how weird this was or regret it later. After all being in a dark room with an older man that just hung to your arm might come off bad. but the poisonous comment made him blush. Luckily for him it wasn’t noticeable when he was a bat.
”I.. possibly, bat’s are poisonous creatures if they bite you... but im not a animal.. i only have bat form and qualities... i.. hmm..” That made him wonder, was he poisonous? If he was, would the same method work for him that worked for snakes? suck the poison out and you’ll be fine? Bit it was Jaspers finger that was touching his fangs. Okay so sucking on his finger might be better then on his arm or somewhere else! But still, it would come off as just wrong and he’d rather not go down that road if he had a choice. so! He quickly shifted just to make sure and well to change the subject. It was weird, it was so weird having Jaspers hands through his hair. Not because it freaked him out or made him feel awkward. Not at all!
It was the opposite actually. Even with Jasper ‘accidentally’ tugging his hair Damar gave a soft hum in satisfaction. What was that? Was he really enjoying having the boys fingers run through his hair? Yes, yes he was Oh wait! Jasper asked him a question. Who was the people? Well.. he wasn’t about to give names. ”Mmm.. the white cheetah she is your age, she’s probably in your class because she was held back a year because her birthday.. the sparrow he is about to graduate soon, but i’d be on alert, his lover is very possessive over him so... it’s possible he would hurt a poor little kitten like you. The wolf.. i think he’s in his last year too.. the black jaguar is actually a teacher here and he can be very.. stay away from sadistic teachers here please.” That was as close as he was comfortable with telling Jasper who the four was.
Thank gawd that Jasper changed the subject and talked about himself instead. so the boy worked as a custodian? Well he had to admit he was a bit impressed. not because the job, but because he had one when he was so young compared to most teens now a days that just relied on their parents money to support themselves. The more he talked the more he found himself amused. Leave it to Jasper to think about things like that. Humming happily Damar took the paper from the boy. So he wasn’t good with Japanese? Well he could easily talk with the teacher, say Jasper needed a one one one time. After all Damar knew Spanish, Japanese, english, french and german fluent! Because their travels he even knew a little Russian and italian. Not much! but enough to get by day after day. Maybe it was a good thing him and the boys traveled when they was growing up..
Wait Jasper! Turning his attention back to him damar found himself laughing, reaching up he patted Jaspers head softly, smiling even. It looked as if they was on the same page here, that made him happy. ”Actually, i know five languages fluently and two decently. If you ever get stuck just ask me. I don’t mind helping you out. I just don’t do good with other subjects. Im a counselor and not a teacher for a reason.” He grinned playfully, showing off his teeth once more only to force himself away from Jasper lap. Nw that he told Jasper he had O.C.D.. Walking over to his desk he grabbed a cleaning wipe. Walking back to the door he cleaned the dried foot print that was made by the boys shoe.
Finally that was killing him.. next the food Jasper clearly didn’t want.. Tossing both the wipe and the food away in the trash Damar sighed. ”Finally, that was bothering me so bad..” It wasn’t rude now, Jasper knew he had issues and promised not to make a mess so here was hoping. Oh wait he forgot to ask earlier! ”Hey problem solver, let me ask you a question. You seen the War of the worlds.” gawd he hoped that was how you said it. " Have you seen alien vs. Predator? strangely... i have the the whole series.. i could loan you them.." Damar said while looking away, a blush Damar found himself a bit embarrassed to admit he might actually like a sci-fi series as weird as that. He blamed his children. But in reality? It was just so strange that he wound them interesting.

[attr="class","jonlytimeleft"] "When you're ready for your next career, we can make sure all the details are ironed out." Jasper agreed, letting Damar off the hook. He wouldn't blame him for wanting to let a topic like that one go. At least he wasn't typing about it on that computer of his.
"I'm sure it wouldn't be deadly." Jasper muttered. A little mad his bat wouldn't let him test a theory? Definitely. But not mad enough- he wasn't going to let one setback deter him from finding more information about this bat-transforming human.
Kitten again. This time it didn't upset him. Actually, he smiled, feeling a bit braver. Maybe- just maybe- Damar really did think it was cute. If he did, he hadn't seen anything yet. Jasper was "acting" normal for Damar's sake- normally he was more affectionate, and more prone to getting sleepy and cuddling close to others, especially in their lap.
"Mr. Ornsparre, how am I supposed to stay away from him if you don't tell me his name? Am I in his class?" Clearly, he didn't intend to stay away. Entirely the opposite. "I'll be so discreet! I'm going to find out anyway. What's the big deal?" Ah- the stubbornness. When he wanted something it was hard to convince him to get off the subject. He wanted all of their names, but the name of the teacher seemed most likely. That, or the one that was about to graduate. If he was graduating, what was the harm in giving his name? That'd make him eighteen, wouldn't it? Jasper was relentless.
Damar patting his head earned Damar that same smile from when they were talking about a killing spree, Jasper's eyes bright with happiness as he watched Damar, listening attentively to the counselor before him.
"Of course, I will! Thank you- thank you!" Jasper replied, clearly enthusiastic about getting out of Japanese class. Truly- he knew there was no chance he'd catch up, no matter how smart he was, and that bothered him. Speaking of bothering- seeing Damar clean up his mess, Jasper's face turned red. He turned around in his seat, on his knees with his hands resting on the back of the chair.
"I'm sorry... Can I help?" Jasper quizzed as Damar cleaned the door. Next, Damar picked up the soup. Mentally, Jasper scolded himself for not doing it. There he was, asking instead of finding ways to help. What was wrong with him? Jasper wasn't the type to just make it seem like he wanted to help without doing any work. But Damar had left his drink and the coaster, so he could still pick that up! Wait- Damar was talking. Shaking his head no to the question, he smiled when Damar offered to let him borrow the movies.
"Really? I'd love to! I love alien movies!" Jasper stated excitedly. Now, the real question was, why did that make the counselor seem shy? It wasn't like he should blush 'cause he was being nice. With no easy answer, Jasper let it go. There wasn't much he could do about it- not yet. But the movie really would be fun to watch! It wasn't just alien movies that he adored, but they were his first introduction to sci-fi, and he did have a soft spot for aliens in particular. His room in Scotland was covered with posters, plushies, and plastic figurines of aliens. He especially loved the glow-in-the-dark ones. Now he was getting distracted. Back to the soda. Leaning over in the chair, Jasper reached out for the drink. There was really no way the teenager would reach it while sitting, but he tried up until he toppled the chair sideways, sending himself to the floor with the chair on top of him, hitting the floor with a thud.
"Owww. Sorry!" For a genius teenager, Jasper wasn't feeling very smart. Crawling out from under the chair, Jasper reached for the soda and coaster, setting both on the table. It was official. He was sitting on the floor. With the soda out of the way, he began pushing the chair from his sitting position, trying to get it in it's rightful position. It was holding it's shape, so the structural integrity hadn't been damaged. Which probably wasn't a good measure of things. "the chair didn't collapse" didn't mean he hadn't done any damage.

TRUTH OR DARE ♥ this will be our dirty little secert

This kid was actually fun, damar would not mind him coming by more often. He was pretty sure when the next school year rolled around he would see him even more. So strangely he was looking forward to it all. In fact, Just listening to Jasper and watching him.. He had an idea that Jasper might actually like. He would make a mental note to come back to that later, before he dismissed the boy back to his classes. Sure he knew Jasper wasn't happy that Damar told him no but he was still the one in charge here. He had to be the responsible adult and tell teens not to do things that could possibly hurt them. Plus he was a total dad type so things like this actually bothered him because what if he was poisonous? That would end back no matter how you looked at it!
So when he distracted Jasper with the whole, first lesson about us. He found himself amused when Jasper started questioning him. was he in the mans class? Looking back over the paper he didn't see choir on there. "No you're not. But really. I'll tell you the sparrows name if you promise to stay away from the teacher. He's really not a nice person at all and has a very twisted personality." he sighed to himself. Damar was pretty sure that he seen the man down here more then the students. In fact the only reason he knew the man hadn't been fired was because his background and the money he could give the school. Shaking the thought out of his head he took a deep breath.
"Mikoni Kekoa, but i did warn you. His lover will punch you and or seriously hurt you if he thinks your getting to close to Mikoni. i can't tell you how many times i've had that blonde boy in here for starting fights because someone messed with Mikoni or tried to get to close to his 'Green eyes.'" Servamps, that would be Jasper last lesson for the remainder of this school period. First be 'there are more of us.' Then he would totally go with 'we have a healing ability.' Which he was almost thinking he should make that wait till later just in case Jasper tried to test it. Halfway through would come the whole. 'we are immortal and can not die." Which again he had a bad feeling Jasper would want to test that one, so he would have plastic on the floor just in case and to be safe on his sofa's..
Yeah that wouldn't be weird. I protected the chairs and floor because today you learn im immortal and can't die by no normal means. Then lead to the whole 'we are called servamps. We take humans as our eve and make them our partners and the human gets a magical weapon' Wait.. if he told Jasper that would he want to try it out? Man he needed to think this over. If curiosity killed the cat then he might end up with a little eve.. wait.. how did he get so distracted while cleaning? Looking over at Jasper he only now noticed the boy was talking. damn he totally blacked out there thinking.. He needed to smile and act like he hadn't done that! Talk bout something else. Movies was perfect right? So why was he blushing after telling Jasper he'd loan him the movies?
Well look at him. He wore a nice dressy suit and a his scarf that hid his neck. Which he had a reason but back to the point! Right the movies! Opening his mouth to speak, tell Jasper these aliens wasn't like the green little ones you see in allot of movies or like the robot machine things in the world of wars.. Wait if he was thinking about the right movie.. it was a possibility that he wasn't.. Damar stopped as his eyes went wide. Before he could move fast enough he seen the chair tipping over. "are you okay?!" Damar cried out in a panicked voice. Even if Jasper got the chair off of him and sitting back up straight that didn't mean the boy wasn't hurt right?
Quickly making his way back to jasper he pulled the boy close to him, pulling u his shirt sleeve a bit to make sure he hadn't scrapped his arm or cut it. Or worse bruise it. Without thinking, he did the same with the side of Jasper's shirt. Sighing heavily he noticed Jasper wasn't hurt on the side he fell on at least.. but damar was not about top tell Jasper to sit and take off his shoes so he could look at his foot.. Oh who the hell was he kidding yes he was. "Be more careful!" He scolded Jasper. Not 'don't go breaking my stuff.' it was 'be careful!' Because objects could easily be replaced in Damar's mind but a student?
"Now sit down and let me see your foot."He said firmly, kneeling down on the floor to sit on his knees he patted his leg for Jasper to place his foot on. He needed to make sure he wasn't hurt after all. His arm and side was fine but he seen that heavy chair land on the poor boys foot and he would take him to the nurses office if he had to! so sitting there Damar looked up at Jasper with a serious look this time. There was no way he was going to get away with saying 'im fine, don't worry." This was Damar after all. So sitting there he waited for Jasper to do as he asked. Really, this kitten was going to kill him. Next time. Tomorrow he was replacing that chair with something else that wouldn't be easy for jasper to flip over on. He would so bring in a little sofa seat so Jasper would lay down like a good kitten instead of trying to tip himself over for the bottle that Damar had totally forgot about because of the scare.
I guess it all depends in the end.♥
Jasper Mikkelsen #i'm sorry. he's a dad first, counselor second. he's gonna be over cautious of people getting hurt! XD

[attr="class","jonlytime"]
[attr="class","jonlytimeleft"]It was not ideal, having to promise to stay away from one of the four for any reason. Honestly, if he held out he might be able to figure out all four through rumors and what Damar divulged. He knew their genders, and relative ages... Jasper puffed his cheeks, scrunching his nose as he considered it. A few seconds later he let the air slip from his lips.
"I promise, I'll stay away from the mysterious nameless teacher." Jasper agreed reluctantly. Now he actually had to own up to it- there would be one of the four he couldn't observe up close. So, the question he wanted to ask Damar next was, why did he think everyone was 'off-limits'? What kind if guidance counselor said don't associate with certain instructors, and don't try to make friends, or you'll get yourself beaten up? Did he really have so little faith in the Scottish teenager being able to handle himself? Jasper wasn't scared of a fight if another guy started it- he was no coward.
"Don't worry! I'll be friends with both of them in no time. By this time next week we'll be having lunch together every afternoon. I won't start a fight or steal anyone's boyfriend." Jasper promised confidently. Lunch with Mikoni was doable, and perhaps Chi would linger, but friendship? That wasn't actually going to happen like he was imagining. Nope- Mikoni was off-limits, like Damar said. But Jasper was determined.
"I just wanted to help. Don't get so mad!" Jasper shot back when he was scolded. All in all, he probably shouldn't have. Damar wasn't 'so mad', but getting mad at Damar to avoid getting in trouble seemed like the best option.
"How was I supposed to know the chair wouldn't hold me? I weigh like ninety pounds soaking wet!" That's a thing people said right? It wasn't true. He weighed closer to a hundred and thirty pounds, standing at five feet, eight inches. "If you'd let me sit in your chair none of this would have happened, I hope you know." Where had that come from? No where. He just wanted Damar off the topic of his fall, and weirdly, arguing about something stupid like what chair he could sit in was the easiest. Not that he'd once even indirectly suggested he wanted Damar's chair- he hadn't wanted it.
"There are rules about this. You can't make me take off my clothes. It was like two feet off the ground! Stop fussing." Jasper growled, warning him to drop the topic. Shoe, not clothes, and he hadn't seemed the least bit phased when Damar was checking his arms and side. Was that enough proof that it hurt? Instead of listening to Damar, he placed his left hand on Damar's leg where he had patted.
"I think I smashed my finger. That one there. Does it look different?" Jasper lied, his voice calmer. Jasper was using his other hand to point at his ring finger. There was nothing to see. No bruising, no swelling, no discernable difference from any other finger. As for his foot, both were folded under him in a cross-cross shape. It'd been uncomfortable, but that's how Jasper usually sat on the floor, so he'd moved into the position before realizing his ankle was sore.
"Mr. Ornsparre. Since you're not a stranger anymore, can I have some candy now?" A distraction, in a sugary sweet voice, as if he hadn't just growled defensively at the man. That, and well, he'd gotten soup for a reason. He was a little hungry. He could wait until lunch, but if Damar happened to share those candies from earlier, Jasper wouldn't complain.
