At times like these, Chase almost wanted to hate how weak he was to Dark and every last whim of his Servamp. It was still early in the year, several months to go before summer would roll around, and when Chase heard Dark saying he wanted to go to the beach, Chase almost actually believed that it wasn't for the reason that first came to mind. Somehow, Chase actually believed that it was for some small reason like to just go on a walk, or hell, to even just walk barefoot in the water. Chase would've been perfectly okay with walking barefoot in this weather, after all, they could still put their shoes back on once it was too cold. But, of course it was swimming Dark wanted to go for. Swimming. And of course, Chase didn't have it in him to say no. Even if it was a ridiculous request, this was Dark. Chase happily died for him, how could he say no to something so small? So, here they were, at the beach. Chase stayed seated in the driver's seat of his car, just thinking about how much of a curse his dedication to Dark could be sometimes, but quickly forced the idea out of his mind. He loved Dark, it was only natural he'd be willing to do these stupid, small things for him. It was only natural that he'd let the love of his life have what fun he wanted, and if he couldn't enjoy it as well, Chase would always be close by, enjoying just getting to see Dark so happy. As soon as he was out of the car, Chase pulled out the bags of towels and blankets from the trunk, slinging them over his shoulder. And while he wasn't particularly excited to be here, he was happy for Dark, and couldn't help that warm smile on his face as he walked over to Dark, leaning in to give his shoulder a quick kiss. "Don't expect me to swim with you, I'd rather not die again." |
